Our story is an unexpected one. We met as high school sophomores, quickly clicked and soon after became inseparable. We went to the same college, so our bond grew even closer and we built a friendship that we knew would never end. 

After college ended, I went to law school and Yves moved away to attend dental school. This being the first time that we had been apart, it was then that we started to realize how hard life was without each other. Soon I was making the 7-hour drive every other week to see her, and she was making the drive the other way when I wasn’t. Being away from each other felt too strange. 

Somewhere along the way we fell in love. Since then, we’ve hiked deep through the mountains of Taiwan, driven through the streets of Tokyo in go-karts, walked the red-light district of Amsterdam, star-gazed the night sky in Paris, and visited nearly every national park from America to Canada. 

We became partners in life and in love. When we opened a business together, we became partners in everything. 

About a year ago, I proposed to her while on our road trip across America. After a 22-hour drive, we made it to Glacier National Park, where I planned to take her on a hike and propose at the end of the hiking trail. As we hiked the trail, I began to realize that the hike was longer than I expected, the sky was hazier and cloudier than I had hoped, and the sun was setting fast. When we neared the end of the trail, my heart sank—the end of the trail was closed and the designated viewing area was as crowded as it could be. 

We continued along the path and luckily, we were able to find a spot off the trail and tucked away from everyone. The sky cleared and we watched the sun set together. As it became twilight, we found ourselves alone. With the fading light and mountains behind us, I proposed and she said yes. 

Now we’re so excited to celebrate our marriage with our family and friends on November 6th!
